Description:
Castleford acquired the services of Gary Freeman from Kent Invicta midway through the 1983/84 season. He made 17 appearances for Castleford scoring 4 tries. He was arguably one of New Zealand's greatest Test halfbacks and at the time of his retirement he was the most-capped New Zealand test player appearing 45 times.
